Beauly
Beauly is a large village that can be found in the Highlands of Scotland situated at the mouth of the River Beauly, not far from of Inverness. Beauly itself comes from the French for ‘beautiful place’ and as the name suggests Beauly is set in beautiful surroundings with wooded hills and fertile farmland.
Beauly’s most famous visitor was Mary Queen of Scots who stayed at the priory in 1564. The village has good quality shopping with crafts, boutiques and antique shops, supermarkets, post office, restaurants and bars. Nearby attractions include three of Scotlands most beautiful Glens; Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Strathfarrer all have a variety of activities from walking to bike riding.
