Bideford
Bideford is a small port town on the estuary of the River Torridge in North Devon. The most notable feature in the town is the Long Bridge, which as 24 arches all of different sizes. The town is spread over both sides of the River Torridge, and at one point, the port was one of the busiest in the country.
There are many attractions in Bideford including Hartland Abbey & Gardens where you can experience the 12th century architecture and is still inhabited today. A big family attraction is The Big Sheep and also a short ferry ride away is Lundy Island (which lies between England and America!) and the island is famed for its marine reserve. For those who venture out in the evening, The Palladium Club provides entertainment and live music.
