Hailsham
Hailsham is the largest of five main towns in the Wealden District of East Sussex. Due to the town’s location, the summer months enjoy the best of English weather, so this ideal for an early or late summer break. Situated on the River Cuckmere, 18 miles from the historic battlefields of Hastings and only 55 miles from London.
Hailsham was mentioned in the Domesday Book and is also infamous for producing “hanging rope” in earlier times! Hailsham has a Pavilion which is a historic building encompassing a theatre and cinema with a difference. The cinema is decorated and restored to it’s former glory from the golden days built in 1921 as a Picture Palace is definitely worth a visit.
