Lutterworth is a town in the Harborough district of Leicestershire. The towns claim to fame came from Sir Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine, developed some of the world’s first jet engines at the British Thomson-Houston works in Lutterworth.
With plenty to do in the region, one notable place to visit is The Museum which shows the history of the town from the Stone Age up to the World War II. One of the biggest attractions in the area is Stanford Hall, built for Sir Roger Cave in the 1690’s and is still occupied today by one of his descendants. For a fun day out visit Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome, home to the Cold War Aircraft Museum and is home to the Victor, Hunter, Seahawk and most notably, the Vulcan XH558.
