Maidstone
Maidstone is a county town of Kent in South East England. The River Medway runs through the centre, linking Maidstone to Rochester. Maidstone was the centre of much of the UK’s agriculture in earlier times and the County of Kent was known as the Garden of England.
Maidstone is best known for being the home of Leeds Castle, which was hailed the “loveliest castle in the world”. There are also two of the most unusual museums there, the Tyrwhitt Drake Museum of Carriages and the Kent Life Museum. The Archbishops’ Palace, All Saints Church, Kits Coty and Mote Park are just a few of Maidstone’s “must see” landmarks. You can also take a hot air balloon ride from Leeds Castle and experience the amazing views in Maidstone.
