Otterburn is a lovely village in the area of Northumberland, located on the banks of River Rede where is merges with the Otter Burn, which gives the village its name. It lies in the Yorkshire Dales and on the edge of the Cheviots,. The views in this region are simply stunning.
Otterburn is best known for the battle between England and Scotland in 1388. There is a stone column which is known as Percy Cross which is manmade landmark for the battle, surrounded by lovely trees and pastures. Hadrian’s Wall is a testament to the troubled past and border disputes between England and Scotland and is well worth a visit.
