Market Harborough
Market Harborough is a market town within the Harborough district of Leicestershire on the boarder to Northamptonshire. The town’s most notable feature is the unusual former grammar school building which is in the town centre and stands on wooden stilts. The reason for the stilts was to lift the building so that the butter market could take place below it!
This town is the perfect base for a relaxing short break and is surrounded by rolling landscapes and winding waterways. The town centre is rich with shops that sell hand made jewellery, handbags, designer clothing and antiques. Lutterworth is a town in the Harborough district of Leicestershire. The towns claim to fame came from Sir Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine, developed some of the world’s first jet engines at the British Thomson-Houston works in Lutterworth.
